Swedish Andreas Hanson is one of Scandinavia’s most established conductors. His pronounced musicality and deep sense of professionalism makes him a highly treasured conductor by both musicians and audience alike.
He has conducted all of the greatest Swedish orchestras such as Kungliga Filharmoniska Orkestern in Stockholm, Sveriges Radio Symfoniorkester, Malmö Symfonirorkester as well as conducting opera and ballet at, among others, Kungliga Operan in Stockholm. Beyond his great work as a conductor in Scandinavia, he has been engaged as a guest conductor in Russia, Great Britain, Poland and Lithuania. In 2000 he made his debut in London at a Proms-concert.
He studied conducting at Kungaliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm and later continued his studies with Sir Andrew Davis in London and Carlo Maria Giulini in Milano.
While working as an orchester conductor, he has also build a reputation as a highly-treasured choir conductor, having conducted Radiokören in Stockholm among several others.
Andreas has received Kungliga Musikaliska Akademiens great international scholarship twice and the Crusell-scholarship for Young Conductors.
In season 16-17 he will conduct ,among other appearances, Norrköpings Symfoniorkester, Sönderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Västerås Sinfonietta, Svenska Kammarorkestern og Kringkastingsorkestret in Oslo.
