Leif Aruhn-Solén

For over a decade, the Swedish tenor Leif Aruhn-Solén has been a sought after singer on the worldʼs concert- and opera stages. His high tenor voice with ease for coloraturas, combined with a delicate timbre and fine interpretations, have rendered him collaborations with some of the worldʼs most renowned baroque ensembles and symphony orchestras. Likewise, his opera engagements have taken him to opera houses in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.

Leif Aruhn-Solén has a passion for the baroque music. He is often heard in the demanding Evangelist parts of Bachʼs Passions, the haute-contre parts in the French baroque music and in Handelʼs tenor compositions. With his knowledge of the various performance practices of music from different centuries, he has also had success in roles by Mozart, Haydn, Rossini and contemporary composers.

Leif Aruhn-Solén started his vocal performance studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm followed by studies at Oberlin College in Ohio – USA, where he graduated from the Artist Diploma program in 2001. Immediately upon graduation, he was contracted to sing with Les Arts Florissants (William Christie), The New Israeli Opera (Christoph Spering) and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (Lim Yau), which was followed by opera engagements at Grand Théâtre de Genève, Opéra National de Montpellier, the Royal Opera in Stockholm and orchestral engagements with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, Freiburger Barockorchester and Concert Spirituel.
